Terry Hale is the artist behind the work created at Hale Fire Glass. She began her obsession with glass at a young age but discovered the thrill of making glass beads in 2003.
Terry makes her beads using Italian, German, Czechoslovakian, Russian, and American glass. These tiny works of art are made one by one over the flame of a propane and oxygen torch.
Unlike mass-produced beads, Terry's beads are all kiln-annealed to remove stress from the glass, making it more durable. All of the beads go through a complete cleaning process before they are offered for sale or become part of a piece of hand-wrought jewelry.
Since all of her work is created by hand, no two beads are alike. Terry likes the fact that her work is as individual as the people who wear it.
